Up for a Cycling Challenge?

Our St Malo to Sete bike ride is our flagship long distance French route. It's also our favourite, as it was the first we did back in the day when we first got into cycle touring in France.

When you turn your back on the English channel there's ten days of adventure ahead. At about 1,100 km it's a long ride, but broken down into daily chunks is achievable for most relatively frequent cyclists - plus of course there's the excellent Green Jersey French Cycling team to support and encourage you along the way.

You experience the diversity of France as the landscape, architecture, people and climate changes on the way south; riding a bike you have a chance to experience all this; this is travelling for the sake of the journey - real travel in our book!

When you reach the far end and see the Med in the distance it's an emotional feeling. You may have had a bad day on the way and fought through it; or you may have cycled up your first proper mountain pass on the route; you may have raised money for someone or something close to your heart; whatever your reasons or your personal challenges along the way, this is a fantastic route along quiet roads that will leave you wanting to come back for more.

It is a French cycling holiday, yes, but it's so much more than that too.

Crossing the Loire on a French cycling end to end is one of the first major milestones
