London to Paris

London to ParisNo Fly Tour

September 2020

The classic ride of Two Cities. Ride with the fantastic support of your Green Jersey team between these two iconic capitals on a three day route which uses quiet roads and discovers beautiful countryside and villages along the way. In common with all Green Jersey tours the support you receive will be of the highest standard and the hotels we use will also be better than average. We do not use chain hotels as we prefer the character and service that family-run establishments offer (and which reflect our own ethos). Our staff will do everything possible to ensure you have the ride of your life!

Itinerary

Day 1

Setting off early from Richmond we make our way to Portsmouth today taking in some fine coutryside in Surrey and Hampshire. It will not be long before you experience the joys of our cake and coffee stops as we keep you properly fuelled for the days to come (a group of riders said we ought to put 'cake stops' on our van as they were such an enjoyable part of our tours, so we did!). We arrive in time for the overnight service to Le Havre, having had dinner before getting on the ship. Accommodation is included in shared cabins. This crossing is longer athn the alternatives and so gives you the opportunity for more sleep than other options used on many rides, meaning you will enjoy the glorious scenery the next day so much more. Picnic lunch and dinner included.

Day 2

After arriving in Le Havre we use a clever route to get out of the city and to avoid the traffic; it is not long before you are riding along quiet lanes through Norman countryside which will seduce you with its beauty and the quality of its roads. Normandy is a lovely region with a wealth of history and some fine food; apples and cream are on most menus and these proud people know how to live well. You will see half-timbered houses and villages of great history and architectural interest. Encountering the River Seine for the first time you can pause and reflect that you are about half way to your goal. The afternoon continues as before and we stay in a nice spa town for the night with genteel parks in which to stroll and relax the legs. After a good dinner you will sleep well in our excellent hotel and look forweward to breakfast the next day! Breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner included.

Day 3

After a prompt breakfast you will come down to find your bikes ready and waiting. Once again we have a fine route which we have used and refined over the last three years to give you the very best experience. Naturally, as you approach Paris it is a little busier, but once again we have researched heavily to get you the quietest route in. We finish in the city centre with the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower as backdrops - what better way to record your acheivement than a photo here - and then proceed to enjoy a celebratory dinner. Breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner included.

Day 4

The bikes will have been loaded up the night before and will be waiting at St Pancras between 1pm and 2pm to reunite you with your bike. You are free to enjoy the city in the morning and we will give you easy to follow instructions of how to get to Gare du Nord if you are taking the Eurostar home. Breakfast included.
