2014 is the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Why not visit the area by bike? Normandy is a really fantastic place to cycle with many quiet lanes. Our D Day and Normandy tour shows you the landing beaches of 6 June 1944, as well as taking you inland to see other historic sites that many tours leave off the agenda. We will show you the evolution of the battle for Normandy and follow through the action up to the closure of the Falaise Gap in late August 1944. A bicycle tour is the best way to appreciate the landscape, as you cycle past places like Hill 112, Mont Pincon, Villers Bocage and the tiny Jerusalem Commonwealth War Graves cemetery. Finally, we see the tiny ford where the German army tried to escape, and the wonderful museum on Montormel, a legacy of the brave Polish army who fought of the German Panzer counter attack against all the odds. On the last day we return to the coast and visit Pegasus Bridge (below).
