Our Responsibilities

Wherever possible we use family run hotels that will employ local people and put money back into the economy of the region you are visiting rather than shareholders with no local interest. Our hoteliers will know all about the area, where you have been and where you are going, and will use local suppliers in their business. You will drink local wines, beers and aperitifs and eat produce grown and reared locally, and the menu will include choices cooked in the local style. We therefore hope to avoid the homogeneity of hotel chains and to help France maintain its diversity and special character. Whilst they are all clean and run by lovely people and with excellent restaurants, some of our hotels might have interesting décor. But then you cannot say you have truly experienced France until you have stayed in a room with carpet up the walls.

As well as Responsible Tourism, we believe in leaving the planet in as good a state as we can to our children. This is why we encourage our clients to use ferries rather than aeroplanes, as they are considerably more carbon efficient. Similarly, a train ride between London and Tours for example (the start of our Loire Valley Classic holiday) is more carbon efficient too.

We also care deeply that you enjoy your holiday. We are fortunate enough to be doing what we love for a living, and having previous experience of the daily grind of the rat race, know how precious holidays are. We will do everything possible to make your trip with us as enjoyable as possible, and if there is anything you need just ask; any problems, just let us know.
