Classic France in the Loire Valley

The Loire Valley could be described as having everything. Chateaux, vineyards, pretty villages - and that's before we add in the excellent cycling!

The World Heritage Site was made fashionable by the Kings of France who built lavish castles. Other rich men soon built more, in an attempt to impress the Royal Court. Now, with the French monarchy long gone, it is the visitors to this area who are impressed as everywhere are beautiful castles and lodges, built from the almost white local stone. The buildings sum up the flamboyance of the age.

Cycling from beautiful town to beautiful town, you will pass through the vineyards for which the area is also well known. Saumur Champigny, Bourgeuil and Chinon are names all wine lovers will know, and where better to sip a glass than in the wine's birthplace, looking at a beautiful building with the river lazily flowing past, catching the last rays of the sun after a fab day's cycling?

For many, this is what France is all about and our Loire Valley Classic tour offers you the chance to experience this.
