Dick Thomas was capped four times for Wales a century ago before losing his life on the Somme. He died at Mametz Wood on 7 July 1916, a week after the battle of the Somme was launched. Our Great War Battlefields tour visits Mametz Wood and also the Thipval Memorial, where Thomas is commemorated. His body was never found.
