The Chateau de Falaise is probably as close to a perfect castle as you can get, with huge walls, towers, drawbridges and arrow slits. The fact that it is a thousand years old, and the birthplace of William the Conqueror who came over in 1066, makes it a piece of living history. Our Normandy Discovery tour passes right by it, and if you are eager to see more about it here is a link to the castle website's picture gallery

The castle reopens on 13 April this year, the very day that our first Normandy tour passes by. We could pretend that they're opening it just for us...!
