2013 Tour de France route unveiled

After all the retrospection of recent weeks and the Armstrong affair, it's time to look forward to next year's Tour de France. The route was unveiled just an hour ago, and as predicted it is a hilly one for Le Tour's 100th edition. Starting in Corsica, it crosses to the mainland and tackles the Pyrenees before heading north into Brittany, Normandy and the Loire for three days. It then goes south east to the Alps where Alpe d'Huez is climbed twice in one day. The traditional finale along the Champs Elysees is an evening finish which will add excitement.

The stage finish in St Malo on 9 July fits in nicely with our itinerary for next year and we will be shortly be publishing our prices for a three day visit to the tour  from 9 - 11 July to see the this finish and the individual time trial the next day to Mont St Michel, which promises to be a classic.

It is highly likely that the finish in St Malo will be a bunch sprint in which Cav is sure to feature and the time trial will be Olympic champion Wiggins' chance to shine.

You can even ride your own tour by completing our 1,053 km / 685 mile Atlantic Seaboard trip from 29 June to 8 July and adding this TdF visit onto the end. What could be better after your own true journey than seeing the pros first hand and savouring the unique atmosphere that is the Tour de France. Every cycling enthusiast should see it at least once!
