We have several trips for the wine enthusiast, including our tour to the famous vineyards of Bordeaux where you will also get to stay in a working chateau and tour its cellars. The riding is gentle and the daily distances moderate, leaving plenty of time to admire the finely manicured rows of vines.

If you like the challenge of a few hills with your cycling you could do far worse than our Alsace and Vosges tour. This is really fine country, with unspoilt roads and gentle gradients. The wine villages are picture postcard pretty, with the houses painted many different colours and many of the ancient ramparts surrounding them. Alsace wine is great quality, from bone dry Riesling to the sweet late harvest varieties. Added to which there is hearty food and some fantastic views.

Lastly you could consider our Provence and Luberon cycling holiday which lies in the Cotes du Rhone wine producing area. Riding along through row after row of vines, with Mont Ventoux in the background, through villages made famous by 'A Year in Provence' is a great way to experience a first time cycling holiday.

The choice is yours!
